I have now received official confirmation regarding the change (or as it is in reality, no change) to US tariffs, and I quote from an official communication from Royal Mail International:
“…duties quoted on your United States of America bound shipments. Effective from 12:01 a.m. EST on 24 February 2026, IEEPA-based tariffs have been replaced by new Trade Act tariffs by executive orders on 20 February 2026 (a global rate using Section 122). As per official CBP guidance, collection of IEEPA rates remained in effect until that time.
The new Trade Act tariff rates has changed to 10% (if this changes due to further US government mandates we will apply the prevailing rate at the time). This is a government-mandated change is likely to affect almost all shipments entering the United States of America.”
So in essence, one 10% + processing / handling fees tariff has been replaced with another 10% + processing / handling fees tariff.. so no change. Apologies to our USA based customers. Like you, we were hoping for a more positive outcome.
