I have received a few emails and messages over the weekend regarding the question over “tariffs now scraped” and postage to the US etc… Please allow me to update you as best as I can.
We have all seen the news about the US Supreme Court rejecting Trumps tariffs, including the one currently applied to the UK, which should be great news for everyone.
However, businesses here have not been instructed to change anything at present by Royal Mail International or any other mail / parcel handling services that utilise a Postal Delivery Duties Paid solution (PDDP) to handle and process the current tariff. In fact, we can’t process any mail at present for the US without the tariff being applied, so we cant even bypass it if we wanted to.
Furthermore, according to the BBC news here, on the 20th February, Trump announced that he will / is imposing a new 10% ‘global tariff’ to replace the one that was struck down by the Supreme Court.
So.. as it stands at this moment in time, we are still have not option but to apply PDDP for any and all mail and parcels being sent to the US until further notice.
