We have just received notification that the EU is now introducing a Small Parcel Tax for all packages with a value of €150 Euros or less (approx £131 at time of writing). I quote from an official communication from Royal Mail International receive an hour ago:
“From 1 July 2026, the EU will remove the €150 customs duty exemption (also known as the de minimis) for low-value goods. This means that all Business-to-Consumer (B2C) e-commerce parcels valued at €150 or less will be subject to a flat €3 customs duty per individual item classification. Please note that this duty is non-refundable, even if items are later returned or undelivered. Please note: These changes apply to all carriers exporting to the EU from around the world, not just the UK, Royal Mail, or Parcelforce Worldwide.”
Currently, Assassin Graphics are unable to offer a prepaid duties system like we do for our USA customers, as these new EU duties are not per order total or per item, they are being implemented (as far as we are aware) on a per category or HS code basis, which makes it awfully difficult for us to calculate here, and we are not yet aware of a system that will plugin into our store to calculate these new ‘per HS code / category’ EU duties for each EU order.
Just raising shipping costs to all EU orders is not a fair way (or a correct way) to cover these costs, for you or us.
“For items under €150 sent into the EU from anywhere in the world, your local postal or delivery service will contact the recipient to arrange a payment of any applicable taxes and duties before any parcel is delivered.”
As soon as we can implement a working Postal Delivered Duties Paid (PDDP) system that will work for the new EU duties rules, we will update you all.
Sorry.. but like our USA customers, we have no control over this new tax for our European customers.
